Lou had two requirements.  We had to get a ginger & they had to be kittens.  And there had to be two of them.  Make that 3 requirements.  We had never had a ginger before & all our previous cats had been 2 years old when we got them.  So Lou's 3 requirements were quite firm.  And they had to be rescue cats (not from a shop).  So four requirements to fulfil in a land where the Cat Shelters would rather kill a cat that give it to someone in an apartment (not having a garden is cruel!) and where litters of kittens available through the paper were sold, not given away!  But after a month of waiting and a few months of searching we finally hit the jackpot in late August 2002 when the RSPCA had a cat that was 'little nervous' & who needed to stay with her cousin.

The ginger one is Lonny (for London).  He's a boy & he's set to be a giant.  The nervous one is Teo (for TO, the shortform of Toronto) and she's quite nervous.  She sit's on our lap sometimes, but mostly she sleeps somewhere 'safe' like under our bed.  Lonny I guess is like any adolescent male.  Besides trying to do his 'cuz (before we had them fixed) he jumps on all our counters/shelves & see's what he can push off.  We've lost a few vases & a few trinkets but it was the 7 days in a row of finding her dried flower arrangement knocked of our the top of our 8' bookshelf that really pissed Louise off.

Still she loves them more than anything (husbands & family included) and now when I take her out for dinner the conversation always drifts to - I wonder how the cats are?
